Our historic walking tour aims to introduce the Community Now to the Community THEN. This will take place in Haghill and is aimed at both those from and beyond the immediate community. Participants will learn the history of the old Haghill Public School, the tenements they themselves now occupy, who lived there before they did and their jobs / occupations, and many other unknown facts about the neighbourhood. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity for participants to share their own memories of the area.
When: Sunday, June 23rd 11:00-12:00 Where: We will gather at the corner of Walter Street/Aitken Street (by the old Haghill school).

Award-winning playwright, novelist and screenwriter, Jack lives in Dennistoun, Glasgow, with his partner and his terrier Dixie. Jack's been telling the world's untold stories for twenty years and sees no reason to stop now. Jack has lived in Dennistoun since 1983: in a bedsit on Craigpark, in a tiny flat on Cumbernauld Road and finally on Whitehill Street. He is passionate about his neighbourhood, exploring its histories, secrets and is committed to making it flourish.
